GLISS-COAT® 2000

Synergistic processes

GLISS-COAT® 2000 is the collective noun of a series of surface treatments with unique properties. These synergistic layers are developed by AHC themselves and selected to meet the more and more demanding standards of our customers.

GLISS-COAT® 2000 layers are produced during a multi-step-process in which the advantages of the ceramic, chemical or galvanic base layer are being combined with those of polymers.
Depending on the demands on the product and the application a variety of different types can be specified.

GLISS-COAT® 2001:
GLISS-COAT® 2001 layers create a tight chemical connection with the aluminium, which makes it more than just an applied protective layer.
The aluminium surface changes into a wear resistant, hard, self-lubricating, ceramic layer, in which polymer particles have been integrally absorbed. Also perfect non-stick properties can be achieved. Within the GLISS-COAT® 2001 group, different varieties are possible.

GLISS-COAT® 2002:
GLISS-COAT® 2002 layers create an integral part of the top layer of the base material. By applying these coatings, a very hard, wear resistant layer with excellent glide- and non-stick properties is created. Furthermore GLISS-COAT® 2002 offers excellent protection against corrosion from chemicals and moisture.
Because this is an electro less plating application , a uniform layer without side building is created, and therefore no after treatment is necessary.
Within the GLISS-COAT® 2001 group, different varieties are possible.

AHC has the possibility to treat all materials, including magnesium and synthetic with GLISS-COAT®.

Applications

Variants

Depending on the application and substrate (base material) AHC can offer advice in making the right choices. Some example:

For aluminium:

GLISS-COAT® 2001 F 006
Black layer with beautiful decorative finish, combined with good non-stick properties (Food approved).

GLISS-COAT® 2001 F 010
Very hard wear resistant layer in combination with a very low friction coefficient.
Also appropriate for applications where maximum mould release has to be combined with wear resistance (Food approved).

GLISS-COAT® 2001 F 012
This surface treatment combines hardness with self lubricating properties, also under heavy endurance of the tread. This treatment takes care of both a low dynamic friction coefficient as well as a low static friction coefficient.

GLISS-COAT® 2001 F 025
Relatively thick layers have the best non-stick properties, in combination with a good chemical resistance. Treatment has a limited hardness and a low scratch firmness (Food approved).

GLISS-COAT® 2001 F 027
Equal to GLISS-COAT® 2001 F0 25, but with the advantage that there is no static conductivity of the parts. Very low friction coefficient, excellent mould releasing properties, high hardness and high temperature resistant.

Applicable on almost all materials:

GLISS-COAT® 2002 F 009
Very suitable for applications where maximum mould release has to be combined with wear resistance (Food approved).

GLISS-COAT® 2002 F 010
Very hard wear resistant layer (1000 – 1100 HV) in combination with a very low friction coefficient. Also excellent appropriate for applications where maximum mould release has to be combined with wear resistant (Food approved).

GLISS-COAT® 2002 F 012
This surface treatment combines high hardness with self lubrication properties, also under heavy endurance of the tread. This treatment takes care of both a low dynamic friction coefficient as well as a low static friction coefficient.

GLISS-COAT® 2002 F 025
Relatively thick layers have the best non-stick properties, in combination with a good chemical resistance. Treatment has a limited hardness and a low scratch firmness (Food approved).
